Razer is pushing the boundaries of PC and mobile gaming at CES 2020, with a whole host of products from the leading global lifestyle brand from gamers. The new Razer Kishi universal mobile gaming controllers, Razer Sila 5G Home Router, Razer Tomahawk Gaming Desktop and new Razer Eracing Simulator concept. The latter of which has been created in collaboration with game publishers and technology vendors. Razer’s CES booth also has a preview of NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW cloud gaming, among other things.

The Razer Kishi universal mobile gaming controllers support low latency gameplay for both Android or iOS devices. It builds on the compact ergonomic form of the Razer Junglecat – which itself primarily targeted Razer Phone 2 owners – this new Kishi cloud-compatible controllers have clickable analog controls and thumbsticks on both sides of the phone with universal fit, created in partnership with Gamevice for compatibility with most smartphones.

Ultra-low latency native and cloud game control is delivered through a hidden USB-C or Apple Lightning connection. The Kishi’s pass-through charging ports means you can charge during game play. Kishi for Android offers support for most Android or iOS games compatible with mobile controllers, be it native or cloud titles. The Razer Kishi is available early 2020.

“Razer is excited to strengthen its collaboration with NVIDIA by joining their GeForce NOW Recommended program.”

“GeForce NOW is PC gaming in the cloud, transforming underpowered or incompatible hardware into a powerful GeForce gaming PC. Razer mobile gaming controllers are perfect complementary devices to enhance this type of gameplay which we are pleased to feature here at the Razer CES booth.”

Jason Schwartz, Head of Mobile Gaming at Razer

The Razer Sila 5G Home Router concept is meant to be a high-speed networking device for gamers, offering ultra-low latency for both stationary and mobile gameplay. It features Razer’s proprietary FasTrack engine, an intelligent, continuously adaptive QoS (quality of service) feature that prioritizes bandwidth for applications and devices for high-speed gaming and streaming. Likewise it possesses a unique Gaming Mode for online play with no interruptions.

A built-in rechargeable battery adds extra capability to use the Sila 5G Home Router as a mobile 5G hotspot for impromptu, latency-free connection on the go. Choose to have it prioritize between client hardware like between Xbox or desktop PC. It is also designed to optimize cloud gaming services. A manual indicator notifies users when the priority has changed to be always in-the-know.

Control the router with the Android or iOS apps and customize priority for individual apps or their categories. Easily control guest networks, set security protocols or further device priorities.

Razer’s first truly modular desktop system, made in partnership with Intel, is the Razer Tomahawk Gaming Desktop. It utilizes the new ultra-compact Razer Tomahawk N1 chassis. It’s a perfect fit for the Intel NUC 9 Extreme Compute Element, with a sleek, compact desktop chassis with advanced modular layout. Razer’s minimalistic design language is shown off in this one-of-a-kind desktop case, capable of achieving high clock speeds and frame rates without the full-sized bulk.

The all-aluminium body has tempered glass on both sides to highlight the vertically mounted GPU, with an open vent at the top for cooling. The rear has a lock-and-slide sled mechanism that opens with minimal effort for quick access to internal components without needing tools. See full specs at the end of the post.

The Razer Tomahawk will be available in the first half of 2020. The N1 case will be available standalone for those looking to build their own compact gaming PCs. Razer will also likewise launch the next generation of Razer Blade gaming laptops later in the year, with 10th Gen Intel Core H-series processors, up to 300Hz refresh rate panels, powerful graphics processors and optimized designs to meet demands of the user base.

Last but not least is the Razer Eracing Simulator concept. Bringing some of the leading companies in sim racing to deliver the most immersive racing experience to date, the concept features technology from Vesaro, Simpit, Fanatec and Synthesis VR. The eracing setup possesses a 202-degree projection system, hydraulic racing platform, full manual controls and steering wheel with paddle shift for a thrilling and immersive eracing setup.

The simulator chassis as an ultra-strong, hand-crafted center core designed around an advanced modular upgrade system. The core is on a motion platform powered by two actuators and gaming control box. This professional racing training setup maps terrain surfaces, G-force and sounds into motion for complete immersion. Real surround visuals from Simpit come from two Full-HD projectors beaming onto a 128-inch custom black projection system with 202-degree field-of-view with vibrant colours and deep blacks.

Fanatec provides the driver controls, an anodized aluminium and carbon fiber steering wheel in smooth leather, magnetic paddles and adjustable buttons for gear shifting and precise driver aide, paired to a three-pedal system. The racing harness simulates G-force effects by applying pressure. Razer will continue developing this sector of esports in the time to come, investing in eracing competitions and leagues.

“The competitive eracing scene is an untapped but growing sector of esports for which Razer has brought a new innovation, making the games more enjoyable, more immersive and more exciting for fans.”

“We are ready to invest resources into growing this area of competition.”

David Tse, Global Esports Director at Razer

“We are very excited to be working alongside Razer as they enter the racing esports space at CES 2020;  combining one of our professional grade systems with Razer’s racing sim effort, we can’t wait to see how this will push virtual racing further into the mainstream spotlight and take the sport to the next level.”

Nevil Slade, CEO & Designer for Vesaro
