Pokémon Pokopia, the first Pokémon game made exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, has reached more than 5 million sales around the world. The Pokémon Company and Nintendo announced the milestone, which covers the four months since the game launched globally on March 5, 2026. The figure includes both physical and digital copies and comes from data provided by Nintendo, which also distributes the game outside of Japan.
Alongside the sales news, the game’s content is also expanding. Recently, Bubbly Basin launched as Part 1 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, a paid DLC package. A free update released alongside it added a new move called “Dive,” which lets players swim underwater to reach Bubbly Basin, a new underwater town.

The full Expansion Pass will roll out in three parts, and a single purchase gives access to all of them as they release. Part 1, Bubbly Basin, is already available and adds the new town along with additional Pokémon and furniture. Part 2 is scheduled for winter 2026 and will bring accessories, more Pokémon, and new furniture, though it will not include a new town. Part 3 is planned for 2027 and will introduce another new town to explore, along with more Pokémon and furniture. Further details on Part 3 have not yet been shared.
The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is available now through the Nintendo eShop and the Nintendo Store app. With the base game continuing to sell steadily and new content being added through the Expansion Pass, Pokémon Pokopia’s rollout is still very much in progress, giving both new and existing players more reasons to check in on the game in the months ahead.
