Chengdu-based developer Jotoyo has announced Monster Fantasy, an action RPG mixed with cozy life simulation, heading to PC via Steam. The game puts players in the role of an amnesiac hero exploring the Kingdom of Eldoras. From there, the experience branches out in two directions.
Players can take on the role of a monster hunter, battling over 50 giant creatures across varied environments like rainforests, icy plains, and volcanoes. Alternatively, they can settle into a slower pace through life sim activities like fishing, cooking, woodchopping, mining, and crafting their own equipment. Combat involves four playable classes: Warrior, Mage, Archer, and Martial Artist. Each class comes with its own mechanics, and players can either specialize in one or work toward developing all of them.

The social side of the game features around 100 villagers, each with their own personality and interests. Players can build friendships with them and work together in developing their home village. Monsters in the game are not strictly enemies. Defeated monsters can be tamed as pets, raised, and eventually evolved. They can also be ridden across the game’s various regions and brought into battle as companions.
Monster Fantasy also supports online multiplayer, letting players team up to hunt monsters, build their village, and explore together. A Kickstarter campaign is set to launch on July 15, though a release date for the game itself has not been announced.
