CD Projekt RED has officially announced a brand new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt called “Songs of the Past.” This marks the first new paid content for the 2015 open-world action RPG since “Blood and Wine,” which launched back in May 2016. The expansion is set to release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
Songs of the Past is being co-developed with Fool’s Theory, and according to CD Projekt RED, it will bring players back into the boots of Geralt of Rivia for a completely new adventure. No further story details have been shared at this time. The studio says more information will be coming in late summer.

The Witcher 3 previously received two major story expansions. The first, Hearts of Stone, released in October 2015 and brought Geralt into the wilds of No Man’s Land, where he takes on a contract for a mysterious figure known as the Man of Glass. The second, Blood and Wine, released on May 31, 2016, and introduced an all-new in-game region called Toussaint. Together, the two expansions offered around 50 hours of additional content.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt originally launched in 2015 and has gone on to sell over 60 million copies worldwide. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
