Chinese game studio Hypergryph has shared a detailed update on its official Weibo account outlining the results of its ongoing crackdown on intellectual property violations tied to Arknights and Arknights: Endfield. The update covers multiple cases involving leakers, cheaters, and sellers of counterfeit merchandise, with several offenders already facing legal consequences.

The most high-profile case stems from a large-scale leak of character artwork for Arknights’s Summer Carnival 2025, which surfaced before the in-game event went live. Hypergryph’s investigation found that an employee from one of its external partner companies had leaked the data, breaching a non-disclosure agreement. A separate individual then spread the leaked content across social media.

Hypergryph took the matter to civil court, and the case ended with both individuals ordered to pay a combined total of 1.3 million yuan, which is roughly $190,000 USD, in damages. On top of the financial penalty, both were required to issue a public apology to Hypergryph. The apology letters are attached to the company’s Weibo post.

Beyond the Summer Carnival incident, Hypergryph also reported leaks related to the Arknights Spring Festival 2026 and unreleased gameplay footage from Arknights: Endfield to local authorities. Investigators determined that these leaks constituted violations of trade secrets, and administrative penalties were handed down to those responsible.

On the cheating front, Hypergryph uncovered an organized group that had been developing and selling cheat programs for Arknights. The group’s sales were estimated at around 1.2 million yuan (approximately $175,000 USD) accumulated over an extended period. Members of the group have been arrested and are now awaiting prosecution.

Hypergryph is also going after sellers of bootleg Arknights merchandise found on e-commerce platforms. The studio is pursuing these cases through a combination of platform complaints, civil lawsuits, and criminal prosecution. To support its enforcement efforts, Hypergryph is encouraging the community to report any known cases of leaks, cheats, or intellectual property infringements through official channels.
