SNK has officially confirmed that Kenshiro, the iconic main character from the Fist of the North Star manga franchise, is joining Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as part of the game’s Season 2 DLC lineup. The character was previously teased but had not been officially announced until now. He is set to launch in June.
SNK described Kenshiro as “the legendary fighter who survived the end of the century” and noted that he will be arriving in South Town, the game’s setting. Further details on how he will play and fit into the game’s mechanics are yet to be revealed.
Who Is Kenshiro?
For those unfamiliar, Kenshiro is the lead character of Fist of the North Star, known in Japan as Hokuto no Ken. The franchise is a Japanese manga series created by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. It follows Kenshiro, the sole heir to an ancient martial art called Hokuto Shinken, as he battles enemies in a post-apocalyptic world destroyed by nuclear war. The manga began its run in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine back in 1983 and has built up a massive fanbase around the world over the decades.
The franchise is also getting fresh attention this year, as a brand-new anime adaptation is currently airing in Japan on Tokyo MX and BS11 since April 10, 2026, featuring a new cast and staff. More details on the moveset and gameplay of Kenshiro are expected to be shared ahead of his release in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
