Marvel Rivals is confirmed to be heading to Nintendo Switch 2. Last year, it was reported that the development team had reached out to Nintendo and was exploring the possibility of bringing the game to the platform. Now, it’s no longer just a possibility.
Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo confirmed the news in a recent interview with IGN. When asked whether Marvel Rivals was still being considered for Nintendo Switch 2, Koo made it clear that things have already moved beyond the planning stage. “We’re working on it, but when we have news, we’ll announce that one,” he said. No release date or launch window has been shared yet.

For anyone new to the game, Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 team-based PVP shooter featuring a wide roster of Marvel heroes and villains, including characters from the Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more.
The game has a few standout features that set it apart. Players can combine the abilities of two different characters to pull off special Team-Up Skills like Rocket Raccoon riding on Groot’s back, or Hulk charging up Iron Man’s armor for extra damage. The environments are also fully destructible, meaning battles can reshape the map as they play out, across locations like Asgard and a futuristic Tokyo.

Marvel Rivals also gets regular seasonal updates that bring in new characters and maps, keeping the game’s content fresh over time. With the Nintendo Switch 2 port now confirmed to be in development, more details are expected to come from the team down the line.
