Developer Mega Crit has announced that Slay the Spire II will launch in Early Access on March 5 for PC via Steam. The roguelike deckbuilder sequel builds on the formula that made the original a hit, adding new characters, cards, and multiplayer features.
A New Challenge Awaits

For 1,000 years, the Spire lay dormant, its secrets buried and its horrors forgotten. Now it has reopened, hungrier and more dangerous than ever. Players will need sharper strategies, cunning, and determination to survive its trials.
Slay the Spire II features an evolving Spire filled with deadly foes, unpredictable events, and game-changing rewards. New cards, relics, and potions introduce fresh strategies, while dangerous consequences keep players on their toes. Each climb is unique, ensuring no two playthroughs are ever the same.
Solo or Cooperative Play

Players can attempt the climb alone or join up to four adventurers in the game’s new cooperative mode. Multiplayer adds special cards and synergies, allowing teams to tackle challenges together—or carry each other to victory. This expands the deckbuilding experience into a collaborative roguelike adventure.
New and Returning Characters

The sequel introduces five playable characters, including two brand-new heroes and three familiar faces from the original. Each character has unique cards, abilities, and hidden backstories to uncover. Players must master these playstyles to conquer the Spire and survive its escalating dangers.
Discover the Spire’s Lore

The Spire’s history and its inhabitants can now be explored in new ways. Players unlock fragments of its timeline and meet ancient residents over multiple climbs. This lore deepens the roguelike experience and rewards repeated exploration.
Early Access and Community Feedback

Slay the Spire II will expand during Early Access, with more cards, events, enemies, and environments added over time. Mega Crit emphasizes community input, citing the fanbase’s contributions to bug reports, translations, tier lists, and creative content as a key reason for early release. Players joining now will help shape the Spire’s next evolution.
Slay the Spire II promises to expand on the original’s deckbuilding depth while adding cooperative gameplay, new characters, and a constantly evolving Spire. Fans of the first game and new players alike can prepare for the climb beginning March 5.
