Mahou Arms, an anime-inspired hack-and-slash action game, will officially launch on April 27 for PC via Steam, publisher Sekai Project and developer Dischan Media announced. The game has been available in Early Access since April 28, 2020. Following its full release, the price will increase from its current $29.99 to approximately $39.99. Players who purchased the game during Early Access will receive free alternative outfits for characters Aemlia and Susan as a thank-you from the developers.
Mahou Arms is a character-action game set in a world where Earth faces invasion by an alien force called the Locks. Players take on the role of a commander in GARDA, a global paramilitary organization that uses magical girls as soldiers to fight back against the threat. The game combines hack-and-slash combat with story elements, allowing players to both command and directly control magical girls on the battlefield.

The full release will include character action combat with multiple moves and combos, a story campaign following GARDA’s resistance efforts, two playable magical girls with different fighting styles, side quests, and various minigames including cyberspace battles and drone racing. The game currently features one boss battle, with additional boss encounters planned. A rail shooting mode is also listed as coming soon.
