Deadpool is finally joining Marvel Rivals in Season 6: Night at the Museum, launching on January 16, 2026. Known as the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool is the game’s first triple-role hero, able to adapt to almost any situation on the battlefield. Fans have waited a long time for this moment, and Season 6 delivers a hero that is both chaotic and versatile.
Triple-Role Flexibility

Deadpool’s defining feature is his ability to switch between three roles: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. Moreover, players can change his role mid-match from the spawn area. His basic kit—dual Desert Eagles for ranged attacks, a Kick@$$ Katana for melee, a double jump, and passive health regeneration—remains the same. However, his secondary abilities shift depending on the role. This makes Deadpool flexible and strategically deep, offering something for every match type.
Vanguard Deadpool

As a Vanguard, Deadpool focuses on protecting allies. He can throw a Unicorn Plushie to create a protective shield, blocking enemy projectiles. While wielding his katana, he can dash forward to strike enemies. The dash can be recast if he hits a target. In addition, he can generate an area-of-effect shield for nearby allies. This role emphasizes team survival and crowd control, helping players turn the tide in tight matches.
Duelist Deadpool

In the Duelist role, Deadpool becomes a high-damage specialist. He throws spinning katanas that return to him, damaging enemies along the way. He can also dash with his katana to strike aggressively in close combat. His guns remain central to his offense. Furthermore, he can disrupt enemies by flooding their screens with absurd imagery. Duelist Deadpool excels in offensive pushes, ambushes, and chaotic fights, rewarding precise timing and aggression.
Strategist Deadpool

As a Strategist, Deadpool supports his team with healing and utility. His attacks with guns and katanas heal allies while damaging enemies. He can also generate area-of-effect healing zones. This role is ideal for players who want flexibility, providing both survivability and offensive contribution. Strategist Deadpool allows teams to adapt dynamically to changing match conditions.
Team-Up Ability and Gameplay

Deadpool anchors the “Mr. Pool’s Interdimensional Toy Box” Team-Up Ability, activated by Jeff the Land Shark. This ability sprays water to heal allies and disrupt enemies. It complements his chaotic, adaptable playstyle. Mastering Deadpool requires situational awareness, quick thinking, and flexibility. Players must switch roles on the fly to meet team needs. At his core, Deadpool is a hybrid hero, rewarding creativity and strategic choices.
Season 6 Updates and Community Features
Alongside Deadpool, Season 6 introduces the new map Museum of Contemplation, a Times Square Photo Mode, and the Clobberin’ Club duel area. Matches in this area are broadcast live in-game. Hero Proficiency rewards, cosmetics, and exclusive costumes for verified college students also enhance the season. Top factions in the Marvel Rivals Championship will earn richer rewards, including Units, Nameplates, Titles, and more.
Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Deadpool’s arrival shows how a single hero can redefine strategy and adaptability in a team-based shooter.
