Everstone Studio has shared an extensive content and feature roadmap for Where Winds Meet, detailing how the developer plans to continue expanding its free-to-play open-world action RPG throughout January 2026. As the game approaches its two-month milestone following its November 14 launch, the studio appears committed to maintaining a fast-paced update cadence aimed at keeping players engaged with fresh activities, systems, and story content on a weekly basis.
Strong Post-Launch Momentum for Everstone Studio

Since release, Where Winds Meet has shown strong momentum, quickly surpassing major player milestones and sustaining a healthy active user base. This success has already translated into meaningful post-launch support, including a December expansion to mobile platforms and a sizeable world update that increased the explorable map by more than a third. Rather than slowing down, Everstone Studio has doubled down on its live-service approach, confirming that January 2026 will feature consistent updates every week.
Week One Brings New Progression and Endgame Content

The January roadmap officially begins on January 4, when players will gain access to a higher Solo Play Level, increasing the World Level cap to 10. This progression milestone unlocks Unbound, further expanding the game’s main story path. Alongside this, Everstone Studio will introduce Hero’s Realm: Sorrow of Mortalbound, a new endgame activity designed for ten players, signaling a continued focus on cooperative challenges for veteran players.
Mid-Month Updates Expand Quests, Bosses, and Competitive Play

The second week of January, starting January 8, introduces Update 1.2. This update adds new Legacy Quests and opens up the Kaifeng Campaign, while also debuting a new World Boss known as the Nameless General. At the same time, players can participate in the Jianghu Martial Games, a limited-time event that adds variety to the game’s combat-driven content loop.
On January 16, the third wave of updates arrives with Mistveil Prison, a new Puzzle Cave that emphasizes problem-solving over raw combat. This week also marks the arrival of large-scale guild content, including 30v30 Guild versus Guild battles, expanding the game’s social and competitive dimensions. Shortly after, on January 22, Everstone Studio will introduce the Nine Mortal Ways Base, a smaller, instance-like region that further broadens the game world.
Story Content and Seasonal Events Close Out the Month

The final stretch of January focuses on narrative and seasonal content. A new story chapter titled Whispers Beneath the Moon unlocks on January 25, while January 29 introduces two special events, Year of Abundance and Season-End Dash. These events are widely believed to align with Chinese New Year celebrations, potentially mirroring past festivities that included themed cosmetics, activities, and mini-games.
A Consistent Update Strategy Going Forward
This January roadmap follows a similarly aggressive December schedule, which saw the introduction of the Roaring Sands region, new world bosses, limited-time events, and cooperative activities such as Blazing Gale Dance. For fans of Where Winds Meet, Everstone Studio’s latest plans reinforce its long-term commitment to regular content drops, positioning the game as a steadily evolving live-service experience heading into 2026.
