Armored Core: Mobile 3 Is Finally Coming to Modern Platforms

Japanese publisher G-Mode has announced plans to bring the long-lost Armored Core: Mobile 3 to modern platforms. The mobile-exclusive title will launch on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam through the company’s G-Mode Archives+ initiative.

Originally released in 2007 for Japanese feature phones, the game has remained largely inaccessible for nearly two decades. This upcoming release marks its first official appearance outside legacy mobile hardware.

A Direct Port With Limited Changes

G-Mode confirmed that Armored Core: Mobile 3 will be a direct port of the original release. As a result, the game will only support Japanese language text, with no additional features such as achievements or new localization options.

The title was developed in collaboration with FromSoftware, and the port aims to preserve the original experience rather than modernize it. While this limits accessibility for some players, it also ensures historical accuracy.

Compact Gameplay Built for Mobile Origins

Armored Core: Mobile 3 adapts the series’ signature mech customization and mission-based combat into a more streamlined format. Players still assemble and tune their mechs to suit mission objectives, which include attacking targets and defending key locations across multiple stages.

Although the gameplay is simpler compared to later console and PC entries, it retains the core systems that define the franchise. This makes it an interesting curiosity for long-time fans.

An Important Piece of Armored Core Lore

Beyond gameplay, the game holds narrative significance. Armored Core: Mobile 3 takes place between Armored Core: Nexus and Armored Core: Last Raven, which concludes the Armored Core 3 storyline.

For fans interested in understanding the series’ full narrative arc, this release fills in a long-missing gap. As such, its return may appeal more to dedicated followers than to newcomers.

G-Mode has stated that Armored Core: Mobile 3 will launch “soon” on Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam. However, the publisher has not announced a specific release date at this time. Player will have to take notes that more details are expected closer to launch.
