IO Interactive has announced that 007 First Light will now launch on May 27, 2026, two months later than the original March 27, 2026 release date. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store.
In a statement released, IO Interactive explained the decision to delay their upcoming James Bond game. The studio described 007 First Light as their most ambitious project yet, featuring action sequences, international locations, spycraft elements, gadgets, and car chases that fans expect from the franchise.

According to IO Interactive, the game is currently playable from start to finish. The additional two months will be used to polish and refine the experience to meet quality standards at launch. As an independent developer and publisher, the studio stated this extra time will help ensure players receive the best possible version of the game on release day.
The developers thanked fans for their patience and ongoing support since the game’s announcement. IO Interactive plans to share more information about 007 First Light in early 2026.

This marks the first major delay for the project, which represents IO Interactive’s take on the iconic British spy character. The studio is known for developing the recent Hitman trilogy.
