LEVEL-5 has released a second trailer along with new details and screenshots for the upcoming free version 2.0 update to FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time. Titled “The Sinister Broker Bazario’s Schemes,” the update is scheduled to arrive around the Christmas period. It will be available at no additional cost across all supported platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
With this update, LEVEL-5 continues to expand the game’s scope by introducing a new narrative chapter and major gameplay additions. As a result, version 2.0 stands as one of the most ambitious post-launch updates so far.
A New Story Set Within a Living Nightmare
The new story begins when a suspicious tent suddenly appears at Base Camp. Soon after, a mysterious bear lures the player inside. Once you lie down to rest, the game shifts direction. You wake up in a strange land that resembles Ginormosia, but something feels off.
This new area, known as Snoozaland, exists entirely within a nightmare. Unlike previous locations, it follows dreamlike logic and unpredictable rules. As the story unfolds, players explore this unsettling world while uncovering the truth behind its existence. At the same time, the narrative slowly reveals how Snoozaland connects to the schemes hinted at in the update’s title.
Roguelike Structure Enhances Exploration
In addition to the story, version 2.0 introduces a roguelike-style gameplay system layered onto the open-world experience. Each visit to Snoozaland reshuffles the map layout and enemy placement. Because of this, every run feels different.
Players always start at level one with no equipment. Therefore, survival depends on quick decision-making and smart resource management. As you explore, you gain new Lives through item discovery and level up rapidly by defeating enemies. Once you clear an area’s missions, you unlock the gate to the next zone. Eventually, you face the nightmare’s mastermind at the final area.
Importantly, the update allows all items earned in Snoozaland to carry over into the main game. This design choice gives the mode long-term value rather than limiting it to a standalone challenge.
New Rewards, Systems, and Future Challenges
Snoozaland introduces exclusive materials that players can trade for new equipment, mounts, and craftable objects. In addition, new interactive elements add variety to each run. The Drowsy Mimic offers powerful rewards to the first player who reaches it, while Alchemy Robots transform unwanted items into random loot through a high-risk system.
Looking ahead, LEVEL-5 has also teased a future update that will introduce the Primordial Dragon. This boss is described as the most difficult encounter in the game so far. Altogether, “The Sinister Broker Bazario’s Schemes” significantly expands FANTASY LIFE i, blending narrative depth with experimental mechanics and rewarding progression.
