Square Enix has reassured Xbox fans that the entire Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy is planned for Xbox platforms. Director Naoki Hamaguchi shared the message publicly following the release of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade demo on Xbox Series X|S, signaling a major step in the series’ multiplatform rollout.

A Message to Xbox Players

Hamaguchi-san took to X to address Xbox users directly. “I promise to bring the entire FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE series to Xbox,” he wrote. “Start your journey now with REMAKE and experience Cloud’s story. An epic adventure begins here.” His statement represents the clearest confirmation to date that Square Enix intends to deliver all entries in the remake trilogy to Microsoft platforms.

The Remake’s Release History

Final Fantasy VII Remake first launched on PlayStation 4 in April 2020 as a timed exclusive. The PlayStation 5 version, Intergrade, followed in June 2021 with technical upgrades and the Yuffie-focused Episode INTERmission. The PC version arrived in December 2021 via the Epic Games Store, later releasing on Steam. Notably, Xbox platforms were absent during this period, leaving many fans waiting for confirmation.

The release gap has been particularly noticeable as the remake project progressed. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launched on PlayStation 5 in early 2024 but remains unavailable on Xbox, and the third entry in the trilogy is still in development. While Square Enix has yet to announce release dates, Hamaguchi-san’s statement assures fans that Xbox players will eventually gain access to the full trilogy.

A Shift Toward Multiplatform Releases

The message aligns with Square Enix’s recent shift toward multiplatform releases, moving away from extended platform exclusivity. The upcoming Xbox Series X|S release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on January 22, 2026, will mark the series’ first official appearance on Xbox hardware.
