Pathea Games (My Time at Portia) has officially unveiled the first full look at The God Slayer, its upcoming open-world action RPG set in an Eastern-inspired steampunk world. Originally revealed in mid-2023 as part of the PlayStation China Hero Project, the title is now confirmed to be in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Alongside the announcement, the studio released new gameplay and cinematic trailers, as well as a batch of fresh screenshots. Although anticipation is high, a release date has yet to be revealed.
A Steampunk Metropolis Ruled by Celestial Gods

The God Slayer introduces players to a vast metropolis where divine beings known as Celestials rule with ruthless control. You play as Cheng, an Elemancer who taps into elemental qi. Long ago, humans learned how to use qi to command elements such as fire, water, wood, metal, and earth. Their discovery enraged the Celestials, and the conflict soon escalated.
Eventually, the Celestials launched an assault on the Zhou Kingdom. They wiped out its ruler and many Elemancers in a single night. This tragedy became known as the God Fall. Cheng also lost his family during the attack, and he now seeks both justice and revenge. His journey begins in a world that still fears its supposed gods.
Mastering the Elements and Reclaiming Qi

As an Elemancer, Cheng’s abilities revolve around dynamic elemental interactions. Fire burns wood, water extinguishes fire, metal dominates wood, earth forms barriers, and steam emerges from boiling water. Pathea Games emphasizes that combat is designed around experimentation, allowing players to chain elemental effects and build distinctive playstyles. Skill mastery comes from ancient scrolls, seasoned mentors, and the internal cultivation of qi, further reinforcing the game’s thematic roots in Eastern fantasy.
The Star Fall Society and the Fight for Humanity

Cheng is not alone in the uprising. The Star Fall Society—an underground network of rebels and veteran Elemancers—stands as the last organized force willing to oppose the Celestial regime. Led by a mysterious figure known only as “Master,” the group seeks to restore freedom and reclaim humanity’s destiny. Their partnership with Cheng forms the narrative backbone of the adventure, with each faction, ally, and decision shaping the resistance effort.
Inside the Capital of Zhou

Most of the game unfolds within the massive capital of the Zhou Kingdom, a city thriving at the height of steam-powered innovation. Airships, monorails, steamboats, and mechanized conveniences enrich the lives of the elite, while the lower districts remain choked by smog and exploited labor. Political intrigue runs deep within its walls, forcing players to navigate shifting alliances, bribe influential officials, and avoid the ever-watchful eyes of Celestial collaborators. One wrong move could jeopardize the entire rebellion.
A Promising Debut With More to Come
With its atmospheric setting, elemental combat system, and ambitious open-world design, The God Slayer is shaping up to be a standout addition to the growing lineup of Eastern-developed action RPGs. The newly released trailers offer a glimpse of its cinematic storytelling and fast-paced combat, but Pathea Games promises more details in the coming months.
The God Slayer is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players can watch the cinematic and gameplay reveal trailers now, along with a gallery of new screenshots showcasing the world of Zhou and its Celestial overlords.
