PlayStation Portal takes a major step forward today as Cloud Streaming officially launches. With this update, PlayStation Plus Premium members can now stream select digital PS5 games directly from their library. This feature gives gamers unprecedented flexibility because they can enjoy PS5 titles on the go without needing a console nearby. For instance, whether at a café, a hotel, or a friend’s house, players can continue their adventures without interrupting anyone using the PS5 at home.
Stream Your PS5 Library Anywhere

With today’s update, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can stream thousands of PS5 games from their digital library. At launch, blockbusters such as Astro Bot, Borderlands 4, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Fortnite, Ghost of Yōtei, Grand Theft Auto V, and Resident Evil 4 are available. Additionally, hundreds of titles from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classics Catalog, including Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, Sword of the Sea, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered, can also stream directly from the cloud.

Cloud Streaming allows players to enjoy games even when someone else uses the PS5 console. Moreover, it enables multiplayer sessions to continue while the PS5 remains powered off or in use by another account. Consequently, the feature creates a truly portable console experience, letting players game anywhere with a high-speed internet connection.

Redesigned User Interface for Seamless Navigation

The PS Portal home screen now features a complete redesign, making navigation faster and easier. It includes three main sections: Remote Play, Cloud Streaming, and Search. In the Remote Play section, players connect to a paired PS5 console and enjoy installed games without needing a PlayStation Plus membership.

Meanwhile, the Cloud Streaming section provides a dedicated space for PlayStation Plus Premium members to access compatible PS5 games instantly. The Search function lets users quickly find any Cloud Streaming game. If a player does not own the entitlement to stream a game, a QR code directs them to the PlayStation App or a web browser for fast access.

Enhancing the Gameplay Experience

The update also adds features that make PS Portal gameplay more immersive and convenient. For example, 3D Audio support works for both Remote Play and Cloud Streaming, providing spatial sound through wired headphones or compatible PlayStation Link wireless devices. Players can protect their device by setting a passcode. Furthermore, a new network status screen allows users to check connection quality, ensuring a smooth gaming experience.

Cloud Streaming has received several enhancements. Players can now make in-game purchases without leaving their session, which lets them buy add-on content or in-game currency instantly. Additionally, accessibility options such as screen readers and adjustable text sizes are now available during Cloud Streaming. Players can also respond to game invitations more efficiently, joining multiplayer sessions directly from the Quick Menu.

PlayStation demonstrates its commitment to evolving the Portal experience through this major update. By introducing Cloud Streaming and these new features, the company makes PS Portal more flexible, immersive, and accessible. Overall, this update marks a significant step forward in giving players new ways to enjoy their PS5 library. For a full list of supported games and more information, visit the PlayStation website.

However, it’s worth noting that Cloud Streaming is currently limited to regions where PlayStation Plus Premium is available. Since PlayStation Plus Premium has not launched in Malaysia, Cloud Streaming on PS Portal is not accessible to Malaysian users at this time.
