Bandai Namco is keeping the Tales of series alive with remasters, giving fans reasons to revisit classic RPG adventures. Series producer Yusuke Tomizawa revealed in Weekly Famitsu that Tales of Xillia 2 is in development, and the next remaster could be announced soon.
Tales of Xillia 2: Remaster Underway

Tomizawa confirmed that a remaster of Tales of Xillia 2 is underway, following Tales of Xillia Remastered. He said the series is taking an “announce and release what’s ready quickly” approach.
“Xillia 2 is still in progress, which is why it hasn’t been announced. We will deliver updates as soon as possible,” he said.
This approach allows Bandai Namco to release polished remasters without long waits. Fans can enjoy classic RPGs on modern platforms sooner.
Multiple Remasters in Development

More than two Tales of projects are currently in progress, from early verification to late development stages.
“The pace of releases depends on planning and development. Still, we aim to deliver as many titles as possible, quickly,” Tomizawa shared.
Details on the next remaster remain secret, but an announcement should come relatively soon, building anticipation among fans.
Beyond Remasters: The Series’ Future

The series hasn’t seen a new entry since 2021’s Tales of Arise, which later got the “Beyond the Dawn” post-game expansion.
“Alongside remasters, we are planning events, merchandise, and promotions. We want players to experience stories in many forms,” Tomizawa said.
This ensures the Tales of series will keep growing, balancing remastered classics with new content for longtime fans and newcomers. Tales of Xillia Remastered launches October 31 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, bringing the classic RPG to modern systems.
