The latest Genshin Impact update, Version Luna I “Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue,” brings exciting new content with a new banner and characters from the Nod-Krai region plus some popular reruns. Whether you’re new to the game or have been playing for a while, this update offers something for everyone. Here’s what you need to know to make smart choices with your pulls.
This update follows the usual pattern with two phases featuring different characters. The big highlights are Lauma and Flins, two new 5-star characters from Nod-Krai who each lead their own phase. There’s also Aino, a new 4-star character from the same region who works great with both new 5-stars thanks to the Moonsign buff. The reruns include Nahida and Yelan, and they’re not just random picks – they’re placed to work well with the new Nod-Krai characters if you want to build teams around them.

Phase One: Lauma and Nahida
Lauma (5-Star Support)
Lauma focuses on making elemental reactions hit harder, especially the brand-new Lunar-Bloom reaction that comes with this update. She mostly works from the background (off-field), but she’s flexible and can boost many different reactions, making her useful for the long run.
Should you pull for Lauma? She’s perfect if you like building teams around elemental reactions or want to try out Lunar-Bloom. At C1, she even adds healing to her kit. However, if you already have solid teams and aren’t interested in experimenting with new reactions, you can probably skip her banner without missing much.

Nahida (5-Star Sub DPS – Rerun)
Nahida remains one of the strongest Sub DPS characters in the game, even without any constellations. As an Archon character, she’s always been popular, and she pairs really well with Lauma. If you missed her before, this is a good chance to get her.
Phase Two: Flins and Yelan
Flins (5-Star Main DPS)
Flins is built around the Lunar-Charged reaction and works as a main DPS. While we can’t share all his details until his banner goes live, he’s already gotten a lot of attention from players since his reveal. If you need a new Electro main DPS, Flins could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Yelan (5-Star Sub DPS – Rerun)
Like Nahida, Yelan is still one of the best Sub DPS characters available, even at C0. She’s paired with Flins because they work well together – Yelan can help trigger Lunar-Charged reactions, which is especially useful if you don’t have Aino or want to use her in a different team.
Chronicled Wish Banner
Don’t forget about the Chronicled Wish banner! This rotation features six Sumeru characters: Dehya, Alhaitham, Wanderer, Cyno, Nilou, and Tighnari, along with their signature weapons. This could be worth checking out if neither of the main phases interests you. Just keep in mind that these are older characters, so there might be newer, stronger options available depending on what you need for your teams.

Making Your Choice
The new characters from Nod-Krai work well together, and the reruns are strategically placed to support them. Think about what your current teams need and whether you want to try the new Lunar reactions. If you’re happy with your current setup, the reruns might be more appealing since Nahida and Yelan are proven performers that fit into many different team compositions.
Remember to pull based on what you actually need and enjoy playing, not just because something is new or popular. Version Luna I offers good options for different types of players, so take your time and choose what works best for your playstyle.
