Kuro Games has announced that the free-to-play open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves will receive its Version 2.6 update, titled “By Sun’s Scourge, By Moon’s Revelation,” on August 28. This update introduces new quests, locations, Resonators, and weapons, while also delivering several community-requested optimizations.
New Main Quests and Events

The update continues the main story with two new chapters: Chapter II Act VIII: By Sun’s Burning Hand and Chapter II Act IX: By Moon’s Fated Light. Moreover, to celebrate the release, players can join the Gifts of the Moon Roamer event and claim free rewards such as Radiant Tide x10 and Forging Tide x10 simply by logging in.
New Location and Echoes
Players can soon explore the newly added Sanguis Plateaus, a region full of challenges and discoveries. The update also introduces powerful Echoes. For example, The False Sovereign, Lady of the Sea, and Corrosaurus demand new battle strategies, while Nightmare Echoes like Nightmare: Gulpuff and Nightmare: Chirpuff increase the challenge.

In addition, Predator variants and Phantom Echoes such as Fallacy of No Return and Kerasaur further diversify combat encounters.

Sonata Effects and Tactical Challenges

Two new Sonata Effects—Crown of Valor and Law of Harmony—add more depth to combat. The former boosts shield-based strategies and heavy attack bonuses, while the latter strengthens team-wide Echo Skill effects. Furthermore, players can take on a new Tactical Hologram challenge against Lady of the Sea, which tests both skill and coordination.
New Resonators and Convenes

Version 2.6 introduces two new Resonators, Augusta and Iuno. Both characters headline upcoming Convene banners. In Phase I, the “Eternal Radiance on the Crown” banner highlights Augusta alongside Carlotta and The Shorekeeper. Meanwhile, Phase II shifts focus to Iuno in “Across Time’s Waxes and Wanes,” which also features Ciaccona.
New Weapons and Featured Banners
Several new weapons join the arsenal, including Thunderflare Dominion, Moongazer’s Sigil, and the Hunter’s Growl series. Players can obtain the latter through the Pioneer Podcast’s Insider Channel. Each new Resonator also arrives with a signature weapon banner.

Phase I highlights Thunderflare Dominion for Augusta, The Last Dance for Carlotta, and Stellar Symphony for The Shorekeeper. Phase II then features Moongazer’s Sigil for Iuno and Woodland Aria for Ciaccona.
Special Events and Activities
Players can also look forward to a packed schedule of limited-time events. These include Hunt of Ash and Steel (an area exploration event), Prints of Plateaus (a photo collection event), and Tidal Defense Simulator (a tower defense-style challenge).

Furthermore, additional events such as Moonlit Revelation and Beyond the Waves: Rinascita provide more opportunities for rewards. A seven-day login bonus called Gifts of the Hunt grants even more valuable items.
Major Optimizations and Features
The community requested flight, and Kuro Games delivered. In Version 2.6, players can press a button to take off in open spaces, instead of relying on elevated terrain. This system works in both Jinzhou and Black Shores, making exploration smoother.

Kuro Games also improved permanent events like Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways, Tower of Adversity, and Whimpering Wastes. The updates include clearer event categorization, additional Hazard Tower floors, and new mechanics for combat-based challenges. In addition, the new Record Sync feature keeps progression consistent between event cycles.

Exploration improvements now mark minerals on the map and extend Lootmapper detection. Meanwhile, quest-tracking tools streamline Jinzhou’s side objectives. The Gallery includes a dedicated weapons category, while interface updates allow one-click reward collection and new keyboard shortcuts for the PC version.
Graphics and Performance Updates
Kuro Games also expanded graphics support. Frame generation on PC now works with more graphics cards, including AMD FSR 3, Intel XeSS2, and NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. As a result, players will enjoy smoother visuals and stronger performance across more systems.

Wuthering Waves is available for PlayStation 5, PC (client and Epic Games Store), iOS, and Android.
