Bandai Namco has officially revealed how Dragon Ball Sparking Zero performs on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch.
While the game is still set to bring fast-paced Saiyan battles to handheld fans, its specs show clear differences compared to other platforms.
Nintendo Switch 2 Performance

On the Switch 2, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero runs with a dynamic resolution capped at 810p. This applies to both docked and handheld modes. The game is also locked to 30FPS, and although that may disappoint fans hoping for smoother gameplay, HDR support is included for a sharper visual experience.
Original Nintendo Switch Performance

The original Switch version is less impressive. It runs at 720p docked and 480p handheld, with no dynamic scaling. Frame rate is still locked at 30FPS, though certain menus can drop to around 24FPS. Additionally, HDR support is not available, making the visuals noticeably less vibrant than on the Switch 2.
Comparisons and Fan Concerns
The performance gap has surprised some fans, especially since the Switch 2 has handled demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Street Fighter 6 at stronger specs. The relatively modest numbers for Sparking Zero suggest compromises were made to ensure stability across both systems.
Some fans even speculate that resources used to optimize the Switch versions may have limited post-launch content updates. While unconfirmed, these technical details give the theory more weight.

Despite running at 30FPS and 810p, the performance on Switch 2 still ensures players can enjoy the iconic battles on the go, complete with HDR visuals. However, performance limitations may leave fans preferring other platforms for the smoothest experience.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will be available for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on November 14, 2025. For more details on the specs for the Switch and Switch 2, check out the official Bandai Namco website.
