Ratata Arts, alongside developer TVT and publisher Game Source Entertainment, has confirmed that the rhythm roguelike action game Ratatan will enter Early Access for PC via Steam on September 19, 2025. The announcement follows a short delay from its original July 25 release window.
The news came during an exclusive Ratatan Play Session in Tokyo on August 7, where Japanese press and streamers got hands-on time with the latest build. The event also revealed two brand-new worlds, additional weapon types, and fresh Ratatan characters joining the battlefield.
New Worlds to Explore

The developer also unveiled new content, particularly the third and fourth worlds:
World 3 – Jam Jammer Jungle Journey
A dense jungle filled with ancient drum ruins, dangerous swamps, and fierce wildlife. Deep inside, the priestess Tolja So is preparing a ritual to resurrect an evil god.
World 4 – Frozen Flower Fantasia
Once a vibrant garden of eternal spring, this frozen domain is now ruled by Glaciera and her icy followers.
New Ratatans and Weapons
Several new Ratatans debuted at the event, bringing fresh strategic possibilities. Players can now wield staves, bombs, scythes, and hammers, expanding combat variety and tactics.
A special livestream hosted by voice actor Tomokazu Sugita is scheduled for September 14, where the team will share the latest updates, post-launch roadmap, and upcoming events.
What is Ratatan?

Described as the spiritual successor to the beloved Patapon series, Ratatan puts players in the role of a conductor, leading an army of Ratatans using rhythmic button commands. Timing is key, as synchronized inputs unleash powerful skills during battle.
The game also modernizes its movement system without losing the iconic four-beat attack-defense rhythm gameplay. Up to four players can join forces online, with full language support in 10 languages, including Japanese, English, Korean, and Spanish.
Early Access Goals

Producer Kazuto Sakajiri expressed gratitude to fans, noting that community feedback during Early Access will help shape the final release:
“With the Early Access version, we’ll be incorporating your feedback to make Ratatan even better. Let’s make this world an amazing one together!”
Ratatan’s full release will arrive later on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Ratatan will launch on Early Access on September 19, so wishlist the game now on Steam or visit the official site for updates.
