HoYoverse has announced that the PS4 version of Genshin Impact will be delisted and removed from sale and lose support over the next year. The popular action RPG will no longer be available on PlayStation Store starting September 10, 2025.
The shutdown will happen in three stages over several months. First, the game will be removed from PlayStation Store on September 10, 2025, meaning no new players can download it. Then, in-game purchases for currency and passes will end on February 2, 2026. Finally, all PS4 support will end completely on April 8, 2026.

HoYoVerse cited “hardware performance and platform application size” as the main reasons for ending PS4 updates. The company had already warned players in May 2024 about performance drops on the older console. The PS4’s aging hardware can no longer keep up with the game’s growing requirements, especially with the upcoming Genshin Impact 6.0 update called “Song of the Welkin Moon.”
PS4 players can still play the game until April 8, 2026, but they’ll need to switch platforms eventually to continue playing. HoYoVerse offers account transfer options for players who want to move their progress to other devices. Players can link their accounts now by going to the in-game Paimon Menu, then Settings, then Account, and visiting the User Center. Starting December 17, 2025, the game will automatically show prompts to help players link their accounts using email or QR codes.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will continue to receive full support. However, mobile and PC platforms are getting new minimum requirements with the 6.0 update.
