Koei Tecmo has revealed that Warriors Abyss will receive a free update on July 4, 2025, bringing four iconic fighters from Ninja Gaiden into the hack-and-slash arena: Ryu Hayabusa, Ayane, Rachel, and Momiji. The crossover, dubbed Update 4: Master Ninja, lets fans wield each hero’s trademark weapons and Musou-style combos at no extra cost.

Released in February 2025, Warriors Abyss re-imagines the traditional Musou formula with roguelike progression and co-op support. Each run pushes players through procedurally mixed battlefields where defeating hordes, capturing bases, and leveling hero skills are key to surviving the titular abyss.

Update 4.0 Details

The Master Ninja Update adds four fan-favorite characters from the Ninja Gaiden series to Warriors Abyss, completely free:

• Ryu Hayabusa – The legendary super ninja returns with his signature fast slashes and devastating Izuna Drop finisher.

• Ayane – Armed with dual kunai, Ayane spins through enemies with agile, whirlwind-style attacks.

• Rachel – This powerful demon hunter smashes foes with heavy war hammer combos, offering brute strength and impact.

• Momiji – A graceful shrine maiden who brings elegance to the battlefield with sweeping naginata strikes and fluid aerial techniques.

For those who want to fight in style, two paid costume DLC bundles are available:

• Master Ninja Formal – A classy collection with formal-styled outfits for all four new characters.

• Master Ninja Legacy – Throwback costumes inspired by classic Ninja Gaiden designs.

Along with the new characters and costumes, Koei Tecmo has made combat balance adjustments and performance optimizations. Expect smoother gameplay, improved responsiveness, and fixes aimed at polishing the overall player experience.
