After years of being region locked in Japan, Cygames has finally released Umamusume: Pretty Derby worldwide on Steam, iOS, and Android. Within hours of launch, the horse-girl training RPG shot to an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam as hundreds of new players praised its polished visuals, generous launch rewards, and English interface.
In Umamusume (literally “Horse Girls”), legendary racehorses are reborn as anime-styled girls who sprint, train, and perform idol concerts. Players step into the role of trainer at Tracen Academy, choosing daily workouts, tutoring races, and card-based events to raise each Umamusume’s stats and bond levels.

The game showcases more than 20 distinct Umamusume, each inspired by real-life legendary racehorses and brought to life with their personalities and storylines.
Standout characters include Special Week (voiced by Azumi Waki), Silence Suzuka (Marika Kono), and Tokai Teio (Machico), among others. Players can strengthen their bonds with these horse girls through training sessions and heartfelt interactions to guide them toward success.
The Steam launch had widespread acclaim, earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating from early players. Fans are praising the high-quality English translation and seamless performance across platforms, marking the release as a standout among recent gacha and simulation titles on PC.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is now available on Steam and mobile on both iOS and Android.
