Arknights: Endfield Revamped Gacha System Explained

While the beta only shows us a slice of what’s to come (and things might change based on player feedback), there’s plenty to unpack about how you’ll be recruiting new Operators and gearing them up.

The Game-Changing Gacha System

Endfield introduces two main Headhunting banners for characters. First up is the “New Journey” banner, specifically designed to help newcomers snag their first 6-Star Operator. This beginner-friendly banner comes with a sweet 20% discount on 10-pulls (4,000 Oroberyl instead of the usual 5,000) and guarantees a 6-Star within 50 pulls. The catch? It’s temporary and vanishes once you get that 6-Star.

For the standard rates, you’re looking at:

• 6-Star Operators: 0.8%
• 5-Star Operators: 8%
• 4-Star Operators: 91.2%

The second banner type is LTO (Limited-Time Operator) Headhunting, which works similarly to the original Arknights with some tweaks. While it keeps the same base rates, it features rate-up characters and implements a pity system. The soft pity kicks in at 65 pulls with a 5% rate increase per pull, and you’re guaranteed your target 6-Star at 120 pulls – though this guarantee doesn’t carry over between banners.

Weapons Get Their Own System

Endfield also introduces a separate weapon gacha called “Arsenal Issue,” which uses a unique currency – Arsenal Tickets. You earn these from character pulls (1,500 for a 6-Star, 500 for a 5-Star, and 50 for a 4-Star), making it a nice bonus system. The weapon banner offers 10-pulls for 2,980 Arsenal Tickets with these rates:

• 6-Star weapons: 4%
• 5-Star weapons: 15%
• 4-Star weapons: 81%

The weapon system is surprisingly F2P-friendly, with guarantees at 40 pulls for any 6-Star weapon and 80 pulls for the featured weapon. Don’t want to rely on gacha? You can directly purchase weapons with Arsenal Tickets, though some 6-Star weapons remain gacha-exclusive.

While Endfield’s gacha system shares DNA with the original Arknights, it brings some welcome changes. The 120-pull guarantee might seem high, but it’s actually quite reasonable compared to games where you might need 180+ pulls for a guaranteed character. Plus, the weapon system’s separate currency means you’re not splitting your main resources between characters and gear.

With the PC beta test now live and featuring 15 playable characters (including two Endministrators), players can get hands-on experience with these systems while helping shape their final form through feedback. The developers are particularly keen on hearing player thoughts during this testing phase, as they work to refine these mechanics for the full release.
