When you think of merch to celebrate your favorite live-action shows, you’re probably thinking of Hot Toys. Over the years they’ve become the go-to for high-quality sculpts of your favorite actors portraying your favorite characters.

How fitting then that Hot Toys would unveil their figures based on the Netflix adaptation of One Piece– one of the most iconic manga of all time. We were invited to Toy Sapiens at Shibuya, Japan to get a look at our favorite Straw Hats in figure form!

Dubbed the Shibuya Grand Line Store, they’ve redecorated the store in tribute to Oda’s magnum opus. All along the store are cutouts of the live action One Piece cast, with everyone from Luffy, Nami and Zoro to even Sanji and Usopp.

There’s also plenty of wanted posters all along the store with more familiar faces like Buggy The Clown and Dracule Mihawk.

The store itself will be running from 2nd September to 15th October, with all the exhibits open to the public ahead to celebrate the launch of the Netflix series.

Of course, it’s not just photos and cutouts- the Shibuya Grand Line Store also features costumes based on the live action One Piece, letting you be in the presence of the iconic drip of all your favorite pirates including the legendary Gol D. Roger himself. It’s one thing to see them on the screen, but if you’re a One Piece fan it simply can’t be understated how it feels to see something you’re used to seeing on the pages of Shonen Jump manifest in person in front of you, even if it’s just on a mannequin.

Plenty of Merch To Check Out

Part of the display naturally would be the Hot Toys One Piece figures. As of right now, the only two on display are of Luffy and Zoro, recreated with the kind of love and attention to detail associated with the Hot Toys brand. They even recreated Inaki Godoy’s infectious smile that makes him such a good fit for the iconic Straw Hat himself.

Even if you have no interest in buying the figures when they release (they’re 45000 yen each) visiting the store is worth it just to see them in person. There’s something to be said about how the faces are textured in such a way that they photograph extremely well- no worry of a plastic sheen ruining your figure’s details.

That being said, the store is also loaded with plenty of other One Piece merch that you can buy, from Hot Toys’ Cosbaby figures showing chibi-fied versions of the One Piece cast, to shirts and light boxes. There’s also merch like the Meta Keshi blind boxes, as well as acrylic stands and stationery, all adorned with your favorite One Piece characters.
