Dehya from Sumeru, the latest Genshin Impact character will be added to the game on the 3rd of March but fans seem to be weary of getting excited about pulling for her.

Due to a number of leaks including gameplay footage and character growth numbers, players have managed to see her in action, and she wasn’t all that impressive. Many fans are even saying that she is the worst 5-star character ever introduced into the game.

This has come to the point where the latest post about her from the Genshin Impact official Reddit account about her was actually downvoted. At the time of this article, it has over 6.6k downvotes.

From what we’ve gathered, the main issue with Dehya’s moveset is that she seems to be built with the intention of being a tank without the defense and durability that a tank requires. She has skills in stagger resistance and redirecting damage others take on to herself but doesn’t have good enough stats to be able to stand the extra attacks. She also doesn’t complement most of the other characters which can make her hard to implement into pre-existing teams.

Dehya has also been the subject of ire due to her being placed in the Genshin Impact standard banner. For those that don’t know, the standard banner is the main banner for which players can pull for characters in Genshin. Many new characters, especially rare 5-star characters, often get their own special limited-time banners.

Being in standard means that it’ll be harder for fans to get her since she’ll likely not have another rate up, and players that don’t want her will have to worry about potentially pulling for her when looking for other characters. It also means that Mihoyo is less likely to buff her and make her a better character.

It is unknown if Dehya will get an update of some sort down the line even with the negative feedback from fans. It’s a shame as many people really like her design and place in the story which makes her bad moveset all the more disappointing. We’ll have to see how Mihoyo acts after her launch next month.
