Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake has made a splash on PC and consoles and THQ Nordic was kind enough to send us a copy of the BFF Edition.

The BFF Edition is available for €249.99 (RM1166) and comes with an assortment of buried treasure including a scale figure of Mr. Squarepants himself, an inflatable Patrick, and much more.

The Box

The outer box displays the hijinks-filled cover art of the game and comes with an identical sleeve for protection. As you can see we got the Switch version but the Collector’s Edition is also available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The Game and Certificate

Opened it up and we were first greeted with a standard copy of the game, a code for the DLC Costume Pack giving me several classic costumes from Spongebob history, and most notably a Certificate of Authenticity saying which numbered product our copy is. There are 11,000 copies of the BFF Collectors Edition in total.

The BFF Ring

The next tray of goodies includes three groups of items. The first four metal placemats feature artwork from the game. The artwork on these looks great and they’re very sturdy.

The next items are four rubber balls with various costumed Spongebobs inside. I remember as a kid is used to have balls like these and would often wonder if I should try to split them open for the toy inside. Thankfully I never did. Putting that aside there’ll always be some fun in just bouncing a rubber ball and these are no different.

Finally, you have Spongebob’s Best Friends Forever Amulet. Inside features a drawing of BFFs Spongebob and Patrick on one side and the cover art for The Cosmic Shake on the other. Altogether these make for some fun collectibles for any fan of the show but we still got a couple more items to go.

This is Patrick

Underneath the placements, you’ll find the folded form of the inflatable Patrick Star. Once you blow him up, he’ll be ready to help you get through the game.

Within the game, Patrick wishes to become a balloon, and through the magic bubble soap Spongebob gets from the mysterious mermaid Cassandra, he actually becomes one. From here, Patrick acts as a guide pointing you to the next part of the level and bringing you fresh sets of underwear which act as your health points.

Sweet, Sweet Victory

The main attraction of Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake BFF Edition is the 24CM Cosmic Victory Spongebob Statue. This is based on the iconic role Spongebob had while singing “Sweet Victory” in the season 2 episode “Bank Geeks”.

Spongebob is seen decked out in bull band wear, standing on a jelly monster base and with balloon Patrick floating behind him. Considering Sweet Victory may be one of the most well-known moments in Spongebob’s entire 20+ year run, I can imagine many fans would love to have this figure to remind them of it.

The Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake provides an assortment of Spongebob goodies, perfect as you go through the different worlds on Spongebob’s latest adventure.
