Like a Dragon: Ishin! Interview Video Highlights Riki Takeuchi’s Thoughts Playing as Takeda Kanryusai

SEGA has released a new video for Like a Dragon: Ishin! featuring an interview with Riki Takeuchi, the voice actor for Takeda Kanryusai.

Riki Takeuchi is a Japanese actor whose most recent works include the film My Father’s Tracks and Real Girl. His casting as the voice for Takeda Kanryusai will be his second appearance in the video game industry with the first being Hiroki Awano from Yakuza 0.

In the interview video, you can watch as Riki Takeuchi shares his thoughts on returning to the franchise after 8 years and playing Takeda.

Takeda Kanryusai is the Shinsengumi Captain of the Fifth Division. He is a commander who has mastered the Koshu-style military tactics. Despite rarely putting himself on the forefront of battles, he excels in leading his subordinates and has excellent swordsmanship.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! is a remake of the original hack and slash game, Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin!, released back in February 22nd, 2014. Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, the remake will be released on February 22nd, 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam.
