Nintendo Switch Online members can now play Pokken Tournament DX as part of a free game trial for a limited amount of time. The game will be available from August 18th to August 24th at 23:59 PT (14:59 MYT the next day).

Pokken Tournament is also on sale for 30% off on the Nintendo Switch Eshop, lowering it’s price to $39 USD. The sale will end on the 31st of August 2022.

“Take direct control of one of 21 prized Pokémon fighters to defeat other Pokémon in arena fights. Call upon Support Pokémon to assist in the fight, then unleash your Pokémon’s unique Burst Attack to climb atop the ranks.”

Pokken Tournament is an official Pokemon 3D fighting game developed by the same people who make Tekken at Bandai Namco. The roster consists of several fan favourite pokemon from across the series including Pikachu, Scizor, Decidueye and others.

The release of the Pokken Tournament DX trial and discount is likely to coincide with the game’s official tournament as part of the Pokemon World Championships which is being held from the 18th to the 21st of August in London, England.

Pokken Tournament DX is a port of the Wii U original which itself was based on an arcade game. It adds a number of new character exclusive to the Switch version.
