GamerBraves Newsletter vol. 20 – PS5 or PS4: Cross Generation Games and Buying a Next Gen system

Even though they belong to two different generations, PS4 and PS5 share a lot of similar video game titles, despite the 7-year gap. In this week’s issue of the GamerBraves Newsletter, we’ll be setting our sights on the generation gap between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and what it means for their video games.

While anyone would recognise the PS5’s big, curvy body a mile away, the current global chip shortage has made the console a rare sight. Many gamers are still hanging on to their PS4s as a result. Video game developers are also continuing to release their new video games on the PS4. In terms of PS5 exclusives, there is not that many even after a year into its lifespan.

However, unlike previous generations of PlayStation consoles, the generation gap between PS4 and PS5 has been made smaller thanks to the presence of free upgrades. Most of the time, owning a game on the PS4 means that you can also play the game on its newer predecessor, should you choose to own one.
