Riot Games has announced that 2XKO, its free-to-play fighting game, will officially launch on January 20, 2026. The game will be available on console and PC when it exits Early Access.
The announcement came through a trailer released by the developer, though the video has since been made private. 2XKO originally entered Early Access on PC via client download on October 7, 2025.
2XKO is a two-versus-two fighting game developed by Riot Games, the studio behind League of Legends and VALORANT. The game centers on team-based combat where players can either control both fighters on their team solo or team up with a friend in duo mode.
The game features champions from League of Legends, bringing the MOBA’s characters into the fighting game genre with new movesets designed specifically for this style of gameplay. Players can also use “Fuses,” which are modifiers that change how teams play and add variety to matches.

According to Riot Games, 2XKO includes several modes to fit different play styles. Players can compete in Ranked matches, enjoy Casual games, or set up Private lobbies. The game also features virtual arcade-style lobbies where players can find teammates, opponents, or watch matches.
The game uses rollback netcode technology and includes anti-cheat systems aimed at providing smooth online gameplay. Visually, 2XKO uses 2D graphics and includes stages based on Runeterra, the world of League of Legends, along with original music. 2XKO will remain free-to-play when it launches across all platforms in January 2026.
