Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1 Update Launches July 16 With New Characters and Summer Fun

HoYoverse has officially revealed that Version 2.1 of Zenless Zone Zero, titled “The Impending Crash of Waves,” will release globally on July 16, 2025. This summer-themed update invites players to dive into a vibrant new chapter filled with tropical locations, seasonal outfits, fresh characters, and exciting mini-games.

Explore Sailume Bay and Fantasy Resort

In Version 2.1, the Proxies(players) will uncover two new regions: Sailume Bay and the Fantasy Resort. Sailume Bay, hidden beneath the cliffs of Failume Heights, becomes the main setting for the new story arc in Season 2 Chapter 2. Here, players will encounter the Spook Shack faction as they investigate disturbances caused by the Exaltists.

The high-profile investigation team includes Alice Thymefield, descendant of the esteemed Thymefield family, who will later join the Spook Shack.

Meanwhile, Fantasy Resort offers the perfect tropical escape, with sun-soaked beaches, palm trees, and hidden secrets. As players revive this once-glorious vacation spot, they’ll also take part in light-hearted beach activities and uncover the mysteries buried beneath the waves.

Meet Yuzuha and Alice – New S-Rank Agents

Two powerful characters from the Spook Shack join the playable roster:

• Ukinami Yuzuha, an S-Rank Physical Support agent who uses her tanuki sidekick Kama to unleash candy bombs and enhance Anomaly Buildup.
• Alice Thymefield, a noble heiress with refined swordsmanship, joins as an S-Rank Physical Anomaly agent. She uses Blade Etiquette to dish out high-damage strikes.

Also joining are:

• Miss Esme, an S-Rank Bangboo support unit with healing and energy restoration.
• Returning agents include Miyabi (S-Rank Frost Anomaly) and Yanagi (S-Rank Electric Anomaly).

Summer Vibes and Mini-Games

Fantasy Resort isn’t just for looks. Proxies can dive into new mini-games like:

• Surfing challenges with power-ups and obstacle courses.
• Sea shooting tours aboard yachts.
• Fishing spots featuring new species and relaxed mechanics.
• En-Nah Chess Legend, a new Bangboo auto battler event with PvP.
• Updated Simulated Battle Trials with a new scoring system for combat experts.

To match the summer atmosphere, seasonal outfits will be available for Yuzuha, Alice, and the main characters.
