SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have confirmed Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Yakuza Kiwami 3 Gaiden: Dark Ties, a two-game package that pairs a full remake of Yakuza 3 with a brand-new standalone spin-off. The package arrives on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (Steam) on February 12, 2026.
The standard edition will retail for RM 199 and the Deluxe Edition for RM 249. The Deluxe Edition includes several cosmetic packs and a Legendary Background Music set.
What’s included and how it’s packaged

This release bundles two distinct experiences. Yakuza Kiwami 3 remakes the 2009 title from the ground up with modern visuals, rebuilt systems, and added scenes. Meanwhile, Yakuza 3 Gaiden: Dark Ties tells a new story focused on Yoshitaka Mine. Players can choose either game when they boot the disc or digital package. Both games sit side-by-side, giving fans the remake and fresh content in one purchase. SEGA also plans physical editions worldwide, plus a special Yakuza Series 20th Anniversary Bundle in select regions.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 — story, setting and tone

Yakuza Kiwami 3 follows Kazuma Kiryu after he leaves the Tojo Clan to run the Morning Glory orphanage in Okinawa. Peace proves fragile. A government-backed resort project threatens the orphanage, sparking political intrigue and clan conflict. The remake expands key scenes to add emotional weight and new context. In addition, Okinawa and Kamurocho receive a visual rebuild that showcases the contrast between sunlit Ryukyu streets and neon Tokyo nights.
Combat, activities and daily life

The remake refreshes combat and player options. Kiryu now toggles between two styles: the Dragon of Dojima Style, built for raw power and versatile combos, and the Ryukyu Style, which emphasizes technical moves with Okinawan weapons. Outside fights, the game keeps the series’ rich side content. Players can cook, garden, fish, and care for the children at Morning Glory, unlocking touching substories. Mini-games return, including karaoke, darts, golf and bowling. Moreover, new side activities expand the world and reward exploration.
Dark Ties — Mine’s rise and new gameplay systems

Dark Ties follows Yoshitaka Mine, who loses his startup and then seeks belonging in the yakuza. The story begins in 2007 and charts his gradual pull into criminal life. Gameplay centers on a boxing-inspired combat style that values speed and precision. Activating Dark Awakening drastically changes Mine’s moveset, letting players unleash cinematic combos and brutal finishers.
The spin-off adds unique systems such as Kanda Damage Control, where Mine handles PR tasks to rebuild lieutenant Tsuyoshi Kanda’s reputation, and the Underground Fight Club, a survival-style challenge filled with loot and escalating danger. For lighter beats, Mine can still play billiards, batting center challenges, darts and karaoke — including his take on the series staple “Baka Mitai.”
Modes, progression and extras

Both games include new substories, customization options, and unlockable content. Dark Ties introduces dungeon-like survival runs that reward offensive skills, mercenary hires and other upgrades. Kiwami 3 expands team-based activities and local gang missions, letting players recruit allies and customize their crews and bikes for high-impact base assaults.
The Deluxe Edition brings cosmetic packs such as the Legendary Outfit Pack, Legendary Lads & Gals Pack, Ryukyu Gal Gang Customization Pack and Flip Phone Customization Pack, along with the Legendary Background Music CD set.
Cast and performances

The release reunites familiar and new voices. Takaya Kuroda returns as Kazuma Kiryu, while Shido Nakamura stars as Yoshitaka Mine. Other cast members include Show Kasamatsu as Rikiya Shimabukuro, Hiroyuki Miyasako as Tsuyoshi Kanda, Satoshi Tokushige as Daigo Dojima, Ryo Ishibashi as Shigeru Nakahara and Teruyuki Kagawa as Go Hamazaki. Their performances aim to deepen emotional beats across both titles.
Languages, technical notes, and requirements

The package will offer Japanese and English voice tracks. Subtitles will cover Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil) and Russian. PlayStation 4 disc owners will be able to download the PlayStation 5 digital copy at no extra cost if they insert the disc into a PlayStation 5 with a disc drive.
Nintendo Switch 2 requires about 46GB of free space for the digital install, and the physical game uses a game-key card that still needs an initial download and a broadband connection. SEGA recommends checking storage before install to avoid interruptions.
