It looks as though Xbox is looking to expand their operations in the Asia region, as suggested by new job openings.
According to the post on LinkedIn, Xbox is hiring a Gaming Marketing Lead for the Asia region. The position is based in Singapore, which tallies up with the already existing SEA branch of Microsoft’s gaming division.
The listing mentions that the marketing position involves handling the overall gaming marketing communications strategy for the regionfor each market.
Here’s the list of regions under this position’s responsibility, as taken from LinkedIn:

Here’s Microsoft’s description of what applicants will be doing should they get the job:

Expanding Xbox in the Asia Market
It’s not entirely surprising that Microsoft would be bumping up staff for the Asia region. We already know that they’ve been trying to expand their reach in the Asian market, which has largely been dominated by its competitors Sony and Nintendo. Earlier this year they tried to do this by promoting GamePass in Japan through influencers like Hololive’s Vtubers.
The Xbox Series X technically never launched in Malaysia, either, nor is their marquee service, Xbox Game Pass available here.
