The expansion to the hugely popular MMO World Of Warcraft will have players pledging allegiance to one of four covenants in the Shadowlands, the game’s afterlife. Siding with a covenant will have serious ramifications on the game’s story, as they deal with a shortage of essential anima.
“In Shadowlands, players will explore one of the Warcraft universe’s most mysterious undiscovered frontiers,” said J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment. “And in selecting a Covenant to align themselves with, they’ll face one of the most challenging decisions they’ve ever made in the game—one that will impact nearly every aspect of their experience with this expansion. We can’t wait to see what paths players choose when Shadowlands launches this October.”
Prior to the release of Shadowlands, players can also take part in a pre-release event, “Death Rising”. The event will have players travel to Frostcrown, where Sylvanas as torn the veil between worlds. It’s a limited-time pre-release event, so players will definitely want to check it out.
In addition, Shadowlands will also feature the return of the Death Knight class, now available to all allied races. The class is only available with pre-purchase of Shadowlands, however.
