TM unifi had announced an upgrade for existing unifi customers back on 3rd July in a press conference. The upgrade they called, unifi Turbo, will exponentially boost the speed of current plans 10 times! However, there were not much information revealed during their press conference. The best news we had was that current unifi customers will be able to enjoy the unifi Turbo upgrade without any increase in their current plan fee.

Though unifi mentioned that the speed will be “more than double” ,which is a line frequently used in their official Twitter, it’s still a vague number. Are we getting an increase from 10Mbps to 100Mbps, 30Mbps to 300Mbps, 50Mbps to 500Mbps, 100Mbps to 1Gbps? We won’t know until another briefing is held, which will be on the 12th July, 2018.

While more information will be revealed on the 12th July, based on the post by TM Group on Facebook, the ‘turbo’ plan will be available from 15th August where we will experience double the current speed with no extra cost. Subsequently, Pre-unifi customers (Streamyx) will also be able to enjoy the ‘turbo’ speeds as they will be upgraded to unifi. However, it is unclear if pre-unifi customers will need to pay an extra fee as their plans are cheaper than unifi plans. Pre-unifi customers will also need to check their eligibility for the upgrade as it is only for unifi supported locations.
