During The Game Awards 2024, Bandai Namco shocked fans by unveiling Clive Rosfield, the protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI, as the final DLC character for Tekken 8 Season 1. Set to join the roster alongside other iconic fighters like Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima, Clive will be available for Season Pass holders starting December 16, 2024, with a full release on December 20, 2024.

The trailer showcased Clive in a dramatic battle against Jin Kazama, with fiery visuals reminiscent of the Final Fantasy XVI Liquid Flame encounter. His moveset, centered around his Eikon abilities and swordplay, includes powerful throws and a Rage Art featuring Ifrit. Fans also noticed a special intro where Clive’s Phoenix wings reflect Jin’s devil wing, further linking their fiery destinies.

Clive’s addition marks the second Final Fantasy character in Tekken 8, following Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis in Tekken 7. While many speculated about characters like Tifa Lockhart making the cut, it’s Clive who takes the spotlight as the franchise’s latest guest fighter.
