Sucker Punch Productions is entering a new chapter in its long history as Brian Fleming, co-founder of the studio, formally passes leadership to the next generation. After nearly 30 years helping to shape some of PlayStation’s most beloved franchises, Fleming has announced his transition away from studio leadership, marking a significant moment for both Sucker Punch and PlayStation Studios as a whole.
Over the past year, Fleming has worked closely with PlayStation Studios to ensure a smooth and thoughtful handover. His goal was clear: to leave the studio in strong hands, supported by a solid creative and technical foundation that can carry Sucker Punch forward for years to come.
A Legacy Built on Iconic PlayStation Franchises

Fleming’s influence on Sucker Punch is deeply woven into its identity. Since the studio’s early days, he has played a key role in bringing to life franchises such as Sly Cooper, inFAMOUS, Ghost of Tsushima, and most recently Ghost of Yōtei. Each of these titles reflects a commitment to strong characters, distinctive worlds, and an evolving sense of cinematic presentation that has become synonymous with the studio.

Beyond individual games, Fleming’s leadership helped cultivate a culture of collaboration and creativity. That studio ethos has long been a defining trait of Sucker Punch, allowing it to consistently reinvent itself while retaining a clear creative voice within the PlayStation ecosystem.
New Studio Heads Take the Lead in 2026

Beginning January 2026, Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley will assume their new roles as studio heads. Both are longtime leaders within Sucker Punch and have been instrumental in shaping its recent direction. Their appointment reflects continuity rather than disruption, with the studio opting to build on its existing strengths rather than reinvent its leadership structure.
Connell, who served as Co-Creative Director on the Ghost franchise, has been central to defining the studio’s visual language and narrative tone. His work has helped elevate Sucker Punch’s storytelling, balancing emotional depth with cinematic spectacle. Bentley, meanwhile, has guided the studio’s technical evolution as Technical Director, overseeing engineering and production systems that support the studio’s expansive and immersive worlds.
Nate Fox will continue in his role as Co-Creative Director, rounding out a leadership team that blends creative ambition with technical expertise.
Looking Ahead for Sucker Punch Productions

As part of PlayStation Studios since 2000, Sucker Punch has consistently delivered experiences that resonate with players worldwide. From the playful energy of Sly Cooper to the grounded, dramatic scope of Ghost of Tsushima, the studio has shown an ability to evolve while staying true to its core values.
With Connell and Bentley at the helm, Sucker Punch’s future appears firmly rooted in that same philosophy. While Fleming steps back, his vision remains embedded in the studio’s culture, guiding a new generation as it works toward the next wave of ambitious, character-driven PlayStation experiences.
