Unlike the initial prequels, where there would be several games out in conjunction with the launch the movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn’t seem to be continuing that trend, since there has yet to be a game based on it. If you wanted a Star Wars game, your only option was Star Wars: Battlefront.
For what it’s worth, there is now a Star Wars game based on the latest movie on the smartphone. Now available on Google Play and Apple iTunes is Star Wars: Puzzle Droids. The game will have you tap into BB-8’s holographic memory bank to experience classic Star Wars scenes and also experience stories from its point of view. As a match-three game, there is not much to write home about, but hey it’s free to play.
Fans of Star Wars may find some things to like about this game, but for those looking for a proper Star Wars experience, you may want to wait for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 instead.
