SEGA has officially released a free demo for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, a new 2D action platformer launching on August 29, 2025. The demo is available now on PlayStation4, PlayStation5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
This early preview lets players take control of Joe Musashi and explore the very first stage of his journey for revenge.
Explore Oboro Village and Try Arcade Mode

The demo features a unique version of the tutorial stage, Oboro Village, complete with tougher enemies and exclusive item placements. Players can test out a variety of ninja skills, from combos and Ninpo to experimental Ninjutsu techniques, all while uncovering hidden secrets throughout the map.
Additionally, Arcade Mode is available for those who want to chase high scores and sharpen their skills.
Watch New Trailers and Try the TikTok Filter

Alongside the demo release, SEGA has dropped two new trailers: a Demo Trailer and a Game Introduction Trailer. These provide a deeper look at the game’s art direction and fast-paced ninja combat.
Fans can also check out a new SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance TikTok filter, where syncing facial expressions lets players pull off powerful Ninjutsu techniques and see their scores.
Pre-Orders Now Open with Bonus Content

Players can now pre-order SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance ahead of its August 29 release. Pre-orders placed before 11:59 AM MYT on launch day include a 10% discount and two bonus items.
Note that the discount on the PlayStationStore is limited to PlayStationPlus subscribers.
Return of a Classic Ninja Icon

Developed by Lizardcube, the team behind Streets of Rage 4, SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance brings the iconic series back with a modern hand-drawn aesthetic and combo-heavy gameplay.
Players will battle enemies, clear traps, and master every inch of Joe Musashi’s ninja arsenal as they seek to reclaim peace from the shadows.
Story and Characters

When Joe Musashi returns to find his village destroyed and his clan turned to stone, he begins a deadly mission to defeat the ENE Corp and its ruthless commander, Lord Ruse.
Along the way, he’s joined by his loyal dog Yamato and a young ninja named Tomoe, both ready to help restore the Oboro Clan.
Release Information
SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance launches August 29, 2025, on PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam. A physical version will be available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation5, while the remaining platforms will support digital release only.
Subtitle options include English, Japanese, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
