When a game celebrates an anniversary event, it’s quite a big deal, and the case is true here in Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2. Between 17 January 2019 and 30 January 2019, players of the game will be able to enjoy a series of in-game events.

To start, players will be able to summon “Masakado”, one of the more powerful demons in the game, alongside the likes of  “Man Eater” and “Bodyconian”.

There is also the inclusion of a new short story, and players who complete it will stand a chance to obtain an event-exclusive “Juliana Fan” when they defeat “Man Eater” or “Bodyconian” in Aura Gate. A “Juliana Fan” can be exchanged for other special items. Beating 5m “Bodyconian” demons entitle players to a “Bodyconian” post-event.

If you are up for a challenge, you will be able to fight “Masakado” itself for a limited time. Upon collecting 10 or more “Sign of the Four Heavenly Kings” by defeating the Four Heavenly Kings party that appears in Aura Gate, you will be able to challenge “Masakado”. Beat it for an exclusive title.

Lastly, during the event period, “Queen Maharaja” will appear as a gatekeeper in Aura Gate’s 26 to 30 floor, while “Empress Juliana” will appear as a gatekeeper in Aura Gate’s 36 to 40 floor. Defeating these two demons grant players a “Juliana Fan”, which can be exchanged for special items.

Sega also took the opportunity to announce two new upcoming features, in the form of an AR “Demon Scanner” which allows players to summon demons and perform negotiations. The higher the Demon Scanner level, the better the demon which can be summoned. Then there’s Mitama Extract, an item that is to be used to bolster demons which be obtained from beating Mitama demons.
