Shift Up, the developer behind Goddess of Victory: NIKKE and Stellar Blade, has officially filed a trademark application for the fan-created character Dororong, also known as Doro. The trademark filing was submitted to the Korean Intellectual Property Office on August 29, 2025, according to official records. The application covers Doro’s character design and multiple versions of the Doro logo, as first reported by Game*Spark.

Doro started as a fan-made meme character on the Korean gaming forum Arca.live. A Goddess of Victory: NIKKE player created Doro as a playful version of Dorothy, one of the game’s characters. The simple, cute design quickly caught on with both fans and the development team.

What began as community-created content has grown into something much bigger. Doro became so popular that many players now see it as NIKKE’s unofficial mascot. The character has inspired countless fan artworks across social media and gaming communities.

Shift Up has been using Doro  in official ways for some time. The company has included the character in promotional materials for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE and has featured Doro in actual game content. Most recently, appeared in the collaboration between Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.

By filing for the trademark, Shift Up is making their use of the fan-created character official. This move allows them to continue using Doro in their games and marketing while protecting the character legally.
