SEGA has shared a batch of new details for SEGA Football Club Champions 2026, covering what players can expect when the Ver. 2.0 update arrives in June. The announcements were made during the SEGA FCC TV Spring ’26 Half-Time Special on May 15. The game is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, Android, and PC.
Three major licence additions are coming with the Ver. 2.0 update. SEGA has secured the rights to Major League Soccer (MLS), which covers all 30 clubs across the United States and Canada. The Japan national football team and Bundesliga club FC Bayern Munich are also joining the roster. All three will be added to Career Mode as part of the June update, and new Scouting lineups tied to these licences are also being worked on. The game’s key visual will be updated after Ver. 2.0 launches to include MLS and the Japan national team.

Two more licences are also confirmed but will be added at a later date: K League 2 and BG Pathum United FC from Thai League 1, a club known for having former J.League player Chanathip Songkrasin on its squad. The Ver. 2.0 update will bring a full roster refresh for Career Mode, covering changes to leagues, clubs, and players. The main priority is updating J.League and K League rosters to reflect their current real-life lineups.
Players will keep all club progress from before the update, but the season will restart regardless of where they last saved. Prime Players that have already been collected can still be used after the update.
More details on the roster update will be shared at a later date. Beyond the roster changes, Ver. 2.0 is adding several new features to Career Mode. These include extra save slots, a new advancement speed option, more predicament scenarios, and unique player comments. Additional improvements and bug fixes are also part of the update, with full details available through the in-game News page.

SEGA Football Club Champions 2026 is a football management simulator focused on developing young players and building a club from the ground up. Players take on the role of manager for a newly formed club, starting with a local semi-professional squad and working toward building a world-class team.
The game holds an official licence from Meiji Yasuda J.League and includes players from all 60 clubs across J1, J2, and J3. It also features over 5,000 real footballers from major European leagues, FIFPRO, K League, and others. SEGA has also announced a partnership with Manchester City FC.
