Palworld Crosses 40 Million Players Just Before Full Launch

Palworld has reached more than 40 million players, developer Pocketpair announced, with the milestone coming just days before the game leaves Early Access. The open-world survival crafting game first launched in Early Access for Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC on January 19, 2024. It later came to PlayStation 5 on September 24, 2024, and has also been available through Game Pass since launch.

Pocketpair shared the update as part of its announcement for Palworld’s version 1.0 release, which is set to arrive on July 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. The developer said that over 40 million players have taken part in the game across the two and a half years since Early Access began, and thanked the community for its support throughout that stretch. To mark the occasion, Pocketpair also released a video looking back at the game’s major updates so far.

With version 1.0 on the way, Pocketpair said it is aiming to deliver a more complete and polished version of Palworld, calling it a definitive experience built on everything the game has gone through during Early Access. Ahead of the full release, Palworld is also on sale on Steam at 30 percent off, making it the lowest price the game has been offered at so far. The discount gives players a chance to jump in and explore the Palpagos Islands before the version 1.0 update goes live.

With the full launch just around the corner, all eyes are now on how Palworld’s transition out of Early Access will be received by its growing player base.
