Konami has announced their RPG Rev. NOiR is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2027. The second trailer and story trailer was revealed during the recent State of Play broadcast in September. Rev. NOiR marks Konami’s latest entry into the RPG genre and was previously teased through during the February State of Play.
The story follows a boy named Asch, who lives in a world guided since ancient times by a force called the Determinant, which uses astral ordinances to try to keep peace. Despite this, the world is once again facing disaster because of a phenomenon called Lightfall, which brings death to everything it touches.
As the story moves forward, he starts to understand his own purpose and choose his own pat. The game features a small cast of main characters. Finé is a young cleric who carries the Rainbow Astria, a power said to be able to stop Lightfall. She is described as cheerful, curious, and eager to see more of the world beyond what she already knows. Diana is a soldier from the Astrian Order’s Holy Capital Garrison who respects Finé and serves as her guard. She has a strong sense of justice and is willing to put herself at risk to help others.
The fourth character, Kross, is a gunner with the Lysrian City Guards who joins the group after being assigned by his captain to guide Finé and the others. He is described as soft-hearted and unable to ignore people in trouble. Rev. NOiR is being published by Konami and developed by ILCA. No further release details, such as a specific date or pricing, have been shared at this time.
