In a collaboration with Monster Hunter Rise, Rockman X DiVE will have a new character based on Monster Hunter‘s flagship monster, Rathalos. The new character, Rathalos Armor X, appears to be a Great Sword main as seen in this intro trailer:

The design of Rathalos Armor X is heavily inspired by the Rathalos Armor set present in many of the Monster Hunter titles. Inheriting the armor set’s red-black color, Rathalos Armor X wields a fiery red sword in one hand and an arm cannon in the other.

Rathalos Armor X comes with two skills. The first skill is True Charged Slash. This skill lets Rathalos Armor X slash forward in two waves, with the second wave having twice the attack power of the first wave.

The new character’s second skill is Rathalos Fire Breath. Unlike the actual Rathalos who shoots fireballs from the mouth, Rathalos Armor X performs the attack through the arm cannon. Activating this skill a second time will result in a flame slash that travels forward, ignoring the terrain.

Thanks to these two skills, Rathalos Armor X is suited for both close and long-ranged combat. Use True Charged Slash when enemies are nearby and Rathalos Fire Breath to fight from afar.

Both Rockman X DiVE and Monster Hunter Rise are IPs that belong to Capcom. Capcom will release Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin on July 9, 2021.
