Kuro Games has released an official statement addressing recent player concerns about Punishing: Gray Raven, promising improvements to the game’s story quality and resource availability. The Punishing: Gray Raven developers acknowledged that recent content did not meet player expectations, particularly in the areas of narrative depth and resource balance, and offered an apology for the shortcomings.
On the narrative side, the team admitted there is room for improvement in both story depth and lore consistency. To address this, they are putting stricter content oversight in place within their writing process to keep future storylines more cohesive and true to the game’s setting. Festival events are also seeing changes. The annual May event will continue to feature character communication updates, but the Double Seventh Festival is getting its gameplay format redesigned to make it more engaging for players.

For players who have felt the strain of limited upgrade resources, Kuro Games has announced a Progression Resource Expansion Plan set to roll out with the upcoming “A Better Tomorrow” update. This includes two main changes:
- R&D resources will be available in greater amounts through select limited-time events.
- Hypertune materials will see boosted rewards in War Zone, Phantom Pain Cage, and Weekly Missions.
The team said they will continue to monitor how these changes affect the player experience and adjust availability as needed.

Kuro Games also announced a new recurring update series called Babylonia Dev Comms, designed to keep the community more informed about development progress and upcoming changes. The first post is scheduled for March 31, 2026. As a gesture of apology, all players will receive 2,500 Event Construct R&D Tickets through in-game mail. The reward can be claimed until March 29, 2026 at 05:00 UTC, so players are advised to log in before it expires.
