The game previously launched in China, Taiwan, and South Korea in April 2025, following earlier announcements in Japan. Developed by Atlus and Perfect World, Persona 5: The Phantom X is a JRPG that shares the same universe as 2017’s Persona 5 while introducing a new protagonist. The game incorporates familiar elements from the series, including turn-based combat and dungeon exploration, alongside a synergy system that allows players to bond with NPCs.
The title features an original storyline centered around a new protagonist who awakens from a nightmare to find himself in a world lacking hope. Players will encounter new characters including Lefaye, an eloquent owl, alongside a mysterious long-nosed figure and a woman in blue attire. The game maintains connections to the series’ signature Velvet Room and Metaverse elements. Persona 5: The Phantom X is scheduled for global release on June 26, 2025, available on PC through Steam as well as iOS and Android mobile platforms.
